Battery grade CAS 554-13-2 lithium carbonate Li2CO3 powder
Product Description
Lithium carbonate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Li2CO3. Its molecular weight is 73.89. It is a colorless monoclinic crystal that is slightly soluble in water and dilute acids, and insoluble in ethanol and acetone. Its thermal stability is lower than that of the carbonates of other elements in the same group in the periodic table. It does not deliquesce in air and can be obtained by adding sodium carbonate to a solution of lithium sulfate or lithium oxide. Its aqueous solution can be converted into an acid salt when carbon dioxide is introduced, and undergoes hydrolysis upon boiling. It is used as a raw material for ceramics, glass, ferrite, etc., as well as in the spraying of silver paste for components. In medicine, it is used to treat depression.
